Description
“Techy climbs & Switchbacks '' is a 3-hr clinic for intermediate riders looking to advance their technical climbing and switchbacks skills. The first 2 hours of the clinic are held at Lions Park in Golden (the large green space by the baseball field) and will cover skills used to teach a rider how to navigate rocks, roots, and water bars while climbing. Participants can expect to review body positioning and bike/body separation, specific to learning how and when to weight each end of the bike to smoothly get over obstacles while climbing. Participants will learn wheel lifts, pedal timing techniques, and how to get up and out of the saddle to get over obstacles. We will also cover skills to help find better balance on the bike, with specific drills to help improve your body position while navigating tight and steep downhill switchbacks with confidence. After the skill practice portion, we will pedal up Clear Creek bike path to the Chimney Gulch trail, and session some features up and down, on the first half mile of the climb. This is a black-rated trail, but come get a taste of it and start to conquer it with Coach Tina there to give you tips and boost your confidence! Park at the Golden Farmer's market lot next to the Golden Library (1019 10th St, Golden, CO 80401). Parking is FREE after 5pm. Meet us just to the west in the large grassy area. Look for Coach Tina and the cones! Class size is limited to 6 riders, at $150 per person. Time: 5:05-6:50pm at Lions Park, 6:50-8pm on lower Chimney Gulch trail. Minimum of 3 registrations required for clinic to be held, 48 hours prior to clinic start or clinic MAY be canceled.

Cancellation Policy
Rowdy Ryder Academy is a one-woman show—every lesson, clinic, and event is personally scheduled, coached, and managed by me. Coordinating sessions, managing rosters, and preparing for each rider takes a great deal of time and behind-the-scenes effort. If you need to cancel your registration, the following policy applies: Cancellations made 7 or more days before your scheduled clinic/lesson date will receive a full refund minus a $10 processing fee, and are also eligible for rescheduling at a later date. Cancellations made within 7 days of the clinic/lesson, or if you are a “no-show,” are not eligible for a refund or rescheduling. Weather Policy: Due to Colorado’s unpredictable weather, decisions about weather-related cancellations will only be made the day of the clinic- 5 hours prior to evening clinics, and 2 hours prior to morning clinics. Skills sessions held at RRA will still run in light rain, as long as no active thunderstorms or lightning are nearby and trail conditions are acceptable, if used during that clinic. If unsafe conditions require a cancellation, you will be offered a reschedule or credit.
